Mini Hornets Tournament 2007

Melrose Mini Hornets Tournament took place on Sunday 11th March in rather windy and damp conditions. However, the damp weather certainly didn’t dull the enthusiasm and spirit of the players.

This year, the tournament was a real local derby, with visiting teams from Gala Mini Maroons, Selkirk Rhinos, Jedburgh and Kelso Cougars. There were some very competitive, hard fought games in all age groups from Primary 4 through to Primary 7. The overall winners of each group were presented with trophies by Richard Higgins (Melrose 1st XV and Scotland Club International Squad), as follows:

Primary 4: Melrose Hornets
Primary 5: Jedburgh
Primary 6: Selkirk Rhinos
Primary 7: Kelso Cougars

The Mini Hornets are extremely grateful to all those who helped, both on the pitch and behind the scenes, to make the tournament such a success.
