P1 - 3 Crichton Cup Saturday May 9th - arrangements

It is that time of year again with the annual Crichton Cup tournament planned for Saturday 9th May at the Greenyards. For those new to this it is an annual tournament played at Melrose for children from P1-3 up to Under 17 and has been running for over 50 years ( I played in it every year from age 5 to 17!) and it is a great opportunity for the kids to get a run out on the 'big pitch'.

For P1-3 kids we just play at Melrose on the 9th (older age groups have a second tournament at Newtown a week later).

All our kids will get a game and we will play two games of touch/tag on the main pitch:

Game 1. A mix of P1 & P2 ('Barbarians versus Lions')
Game 2. P3 mixed with a few kids from Earlston in a game for the Dender Monde trophy.

Traditionally we add in some mid week coaching as a run up to the tournament in addition to our normal Sunday sessions. Given holidays and the Sevens our remaining coaching sessions are planned as follows:

Sunday 19th 11am
Monday 20th 6.30pm
Wednesday 22nd 6.30pm
Sunday 26th - P3 tournament in Gala, P1 & 2 coaching at 11am
Monday 27th 6.30pm
Wednesday 29th 6.30pm
Sunday 3rd May 11am
Monday 4th 6.30pm
Wednesday 6th 6.30
Saturday 9th - all at the Crichton Cup
