Welcome to the 2009/10 season of the Mini Hornets. This is the youngest section of Melrose Rugby Club, for Primary 1 - 7 boys and girls.
The main aim of the Mini Hornets is to have fun and enjoy their sport!
The volunteer team of dedicated coaches and helpers ensure that training sessions and games are structured and enjoyable.
As well as having lots of fun, children get lots of benefits, such as
· Learning about rugby
· Keeping fit
· Meeting and making new friends
· Increased confidence
· Teamwork
Parents are encouraged to give their kids sporting and positive support on match days.
On coaching mornings, parents can have a chat in the club house over a cup of tea or coffee - especially welcome on chilly winter mornings!
COACHING for Primary 1 - 7 takes place on Sunday mornings at the Rugby Club and the Gibson Park in Melrose. Coaching times are as follows:
· P1-3: 10.45—11.45
· P4: 10.45—11.45
· P5 and 6: 10.45—12.00
· P7: 10.45—12.15
PLEASE BE KITTED AND BOOTED READY TO START AT 10.45 PROMPT
GAMES are for Primary 4 - 7 in line with the fixture list. When there are HOME games, coaching for Primary 1 - 3 takes place as normal—you will be notified of any changes via the mini hornets web-site

CANCELLED COACHING & MATCHES:
Match and coaching cancellations due to bad weather, etc will be announced on Radio Borders and the website. You can also get in touch with the Coaches or Convenor for further information .

Please ensure you place your orders early with Carol. The prices are very reasonable for Hornets Kit and we have a selection of recycled rugby kit and boots you can purchase also.
